Coffee giant Costa today confirmed they are to open a new outlet in Billingham Town Centre – creating 10 new jobs.
The UK’s largest national coffeehouse has agreed to sign a 15 year lease with St Modwen which owns and manages the revamped retail centre.
As reported, permission was granted by Stockton planners in June to transform the former Dorothy Perkins store at 112 and 114 Queensway into a new coffee shop.
Kerry Parkin, head of communications for Costa, said: “We are excited to be opening a brand new store in Billingham this autumn, which will bring in the region of 8-10 new jobs to the local area.
We are looking forward to being part of the local community, getting involved with events; providing the store as a meeting place and helping with fundraising”.
The store is expected to be open by the end of 2016, and increases the growing portfolio of national brands in the town.
It adds to the independent and national retail offer in the town centre, which includes Aldi, Asda, Select, M & Co and Wetherspoon’s, St Modwen has also agreed a 10 year lease with Queensway Funeralcare, part of the Cooperative Group.
CPNE acted on behalf of St Modwen to secure Costa Coffee to Billingham town Centre which is trading above expectations.
