Hy-Ten have extended their national operation in to the North East with the acquisition of new premises at Bowburn Industrial Estate in County Durham. The company is the exclusive UK manufacturer of Bamtec, a concrete slab reinforcement, and leading stockist and fabricator of concrete reinforcement bar, mesh, couplers and other accessories.
Phil Duggan branch manager at Newark commented “we didn’t realise how difficult it would be to acquire premises in the North East for a new depot. The company needed a substantial building with ancillary office space, however the main problem was the need for a large secure yard for the lay down of product. After several months of looking we decided to hire the services of Connect Property North East and Jonathan Simpson was delighted to take up the challenge.
Jonathan Simpson, Director at Connect Property North East commented “I was delighted help Hy-Ten acquire new space in the North East. Within a week of searching I was able to identify an off-market building with a large secure yard on Bowburn Industrial Estate. Following an extensive refurbishment of the building, Hy-Ten have now moved in and commenced trading.
Jonathan added “this acquisition was particularly rewarding as it was not only my first acquisition since joining newly formed CPNE earlier this year, but also the fact it was for a national company with a huge industrial tradition expanding into the North East.
Phil Duggan commented” This has been a long, drawn out process, but it would have been much harder had we not enlisted the expertise of Jonathan, and CPNE. I am sure that this will be the first of many acquisitions for Jonathan, and we all wish him the very best for the future’’.
